LoadingJobber is a polished North American tool that's strong in residential home services. For UK service businesses with B2B work, CIS obligations, or commercial clients, the gaps are UK feature depth, tier gating, and a workflow tuned for North American home services.

Jobber is well-built for what it was designed for. The fit question is whether your business shape matches that design.
| Criterion | Jobber | Cushty |
|---|---|---|
| Best fit | US/Canadian home services, residential focus | UK service businesses with mixed B2B/B2C work |
| UK features | Bolted on, US-skewed defaults | Built for the UK — domestic reverse charge, CIS deductions and retention on commercial invoices |
| Tier model | Basic features sit behind expensive tiers | One product, one configuration, no feature gating |
| Workflow shape | Residential template — visits, recurring services, self-service portal | Configured to your operational shape, commercial or residential |
Jobber works in the UK. It wasn't built for the UK. That distinction shows up in four specific places.
Jobber operates in the UK but it wasn't built for the UK. Cushty handles the UK domestic reverse charge for construction as a per-document switch, records CIS subcontractor deductions and produces Payment & Deduction Statements, and lets you withhold and later release retention on a commercial invoice. If none of that touches your work, this reason doesn't apply to you — plenty of UK businesses never raise a CIS payment.
Jobber's strongest workflow is residential home services — recurring visits, customer portal, online booking. If that's your business, fine. If your work is commercial, B2B, or has complex job structures, you spend a lot of time bending your process to fit a tool that wasn't designed for it. Cushty is configured to how your business actually works.
Jobber sells in tiers, and the cheaper ones leave out things a growing business tends to want — their pricing page is the place to check exactly what sits where, because it moves. Cushty is one product: whichever plan you are on, you get all of it, and the plan governs how many staff accounts you have rather than which features are switched on.
Date formats, currency assumptions, sales-tax modelling instead of VAT, tip handling, US-style invoices. Everything is fixable, none of it should need fixing. Cushty doesn't make you correct for the country it wasn't built in.
The honest version. Where Jobber is genuinely better, we say so.
| Feature | Jobber | Cushty |
|---|---|---|
| UK CIS, VAT and RCVAT | Bolt-ons and workarounds | Built in — UK domestic reverse charge, CIS subcontractor deductions with Payment & Deduction Statements, and retention |
| Commercial and B2B workflows | Designed around residential | Built for B2B service ops as the primary case |
| Customer self-service portal | Strong — residential focus | Available, configured to whether your customers actually use it |
| Recurring visits and contracts | Excellent for residential cadence | Recurring templates from weekly to annual, raised as real jobs when they fall due |
| Quoting | Standard line-item quotes | Saved line-item presets, digital signature on acceptance, deposit via Stripe, and on-site variations that carry through to the invoice |
| Reporting | Basic dashboards; depth is tier-gated | A fixed reports page — revenue, job status, engineer performance, quote pipeline, job profitability — the same on every plan |
| Pricing model | Tiered per-user with feature gating | Staff accounts, no feature gates |
| Onboarding | Self-serve, tier-gated training | Onboarding done with you and configured to your workflow, charged as a one-off implementation fee |
Every row above is a claim about what Cushty does. These pages are where each one is set out in full, including what it does not do.
Not every business should switch. Here's where Jobber wins.
Lawn care, residential cleaning, pool services, pest control — Jobber is genuinely good at this. The recurring booking workflow, customer self-service portal and online scheduling were built for exactly this shape of business. If that's you, Jobber is competitive and switching may not be worth the disruption.
Cushty is built for UK service businesses. If your work is primarily in the US, Canada or Australia, Jobber and other regional tools will fit your tax model, customer expectations and invoice formats better than we will.
If a meaningful slice of your customer base books appointments, pays invoices and chats with you through Jobber's portal, that's real switching cost. Account for the customer experience change honestly, not just the back-office change.
A realistic version of the first 90 days. No fairy tale.
Discovery call. We look at your Jobber workflow, your customer touchpoints, and whether your business shape is genuinely commercial-leaning or residential-heavy. If Jobber is still the right tool for you, we'll tell you.
Configuration around UK realities — reverse charge if it applies to you, CIS if you pay subcontractors, retention if you do commercial work. Your Xero contacts can be imported directly; what else comes across depends on what you can export from Jobber, and we scope that on the call.
Running on Cushty. The change most teams notice first: the tool stopped fighting them on UK fundamentals — invoices look right, VAT works right, CIS is automatic, and there's no upsell every time they try to do something basic.
Jobber's plans, included user counts and regional pricing change, and its plan structure differs between monthly and annual billing. This page describes the shape of their pricing rather than quoting figures — check their pricing page for the current numbers in your region and currency before you decide.
We publish Cushty, so treat this as our view of the market rather than an independent review. Everything we claim about Cushty is something the product does today; where a capability is on the roadmap rather than live, we say so.
Jobber prices in tiers with a set number of users included and a charge for extra users, and discounts annual billing. Check their current figures directly.
